Learn to Make a Leather Pouch

Just the right size for carrying a cell phone and a few credit cards, you will stitch your own leather pouch with a soft strap.
Through the generosity of our sponsor, AARP, you will receive a kit which includes soft leather hide and sinew to stitch. Included will be a fabric sample to start and learn techniques for leather. No experience necessary.
Cassandra Gunkel, PhD
Cassandra Stancil Gunkel, PhD, is a folklorist, textile artist and expert in material culture. She has curated numerous exhibits of quilts and textile arts. As a Pennsylvania Council of the Arts Teaching Artist, she designs and delivers arts curriculum for K-12 and adult populations. Her own art has been exhibited widely, including Allentown Art Museum, the African American Museum of Philadelphia, Mercer Museum, the Bucks County Visitors Center. and international exhibits at the International Print Center of New York, Arts Print Residence (Spain) and International Quilt Extravaganza (Oaks, PA).
