Ralston My Way RECEIVES Support FROM THE ACME FOUNDATION TO OFFER FREE Grocery Ordering and Delivery ASSISTANCE
Philadelphia, Pa., May 7, 2020 – Ralston is pleased to announce a grant in the amount of $2,000 from Acme Markets and the ACME Foundation through their Nourishing Neighbors – Community Relief Fund for emergency support related to COVID-19 Relief Efforts.
Many seniors do not have the resources needed to order groceries online or need assistance with the process. Stores with online ordering services are experiencing such high demand when it comes to delivery, that orders are not able to be delivered within a preferred time. To reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19 among Philadelphia’s Senior population, Ralston My Way will use these funds to offer free assistance with online grocery shopping and grocery delivery for Medicaid eligible seniors by providing drivers to pick up and deliver orders to senior’s home, operating within state and local guidance and following appropriate social distancing and PPE guidelines.
Lois, a long time Ralston My Way member, has cancer and is recovering from a broken hand. “Your grocery delivery is a life saver,” she said. “I am planning on continuing to use the service even after COVID-19.”
