We Educate

Michael J. Baime, MD, leading a program at Ralston Center on the benefits of mindfulness meditation for older adults.

Part of living well is getting the correct information to advocate for yourself, develop healthy behaviors, and cope with the issues and challenges that come with aging. Our 2018 education offerings brought some of the brightest physicians, opinion leaders, legal experts and social service providers to our Ralston community.

Creative activities help people stay vital and connected as they age. The Fine Art of Aging Creatively is an art program designed for older adults where participants work in various mediums and are encouraged to infuse memories and life experience into their work.

“Ralston’s education program is top-notch. They have an impressive roster of doctors and other professionals... that give talks and hold discussions on topics that I can’t find anywhere else.”

Vernoca's Story

I was the first female boxing promoter in the world, so I’ve always had an interest in staying well. But as we age, it’s even more important to look at the whole picture—not just going to the doctor and having your check-ups, but keeping active in body and mind, and staying on top of the information you need to be happy and healthy. Ralston’s education program is top-notch. They have an impressive roster of doctors and other professionals that are very good communicators and very good listeners. They give talks and hold discussions on topics that I can’t find anywhere else. From decluttering to diabetes, Ralston has high-quality information for those things that predominantly affect my age group.

“For older adults, it can feel like you’re left in the dark if you can’t figure out how your phone works or check your email on a tablet. The participants in the Ralston hosted Sip & Swipe Cafe®* were grateful for the help, and it made me feel good to share my expertise with them.”
